Embedded Systems (BDIC)

This BDIC course focuses on embedded architectures for health sensing platforms, integrating sensing, computation, wireless links and power management as a co-designed stack.

Topics

  • Microcontroller fundamentals for medical wearables and implantables
  • Real-time firmware patterns, duty-cycling and low-power design
  • Sensor interfacing, analogue front ends and mixed-signal considerations
  • Wireless backends, edge processing and secure data handling

Materials

  • Lab sheets and firmware templates (coming soon)
  • Lecture slides (coming soon)
  • Reference designs and bill of materials (coming soon)

Assessment and projects

Assessment includes labs and a build-focused project where students deliver a working embedded prototype with documented power, latency and data integrity performance. Full guidance will be added here.
